Hunch leads police to wounded man

Mark DonaldsonJoondalup Times

Police allege the men chased the 21-year-old man from a Padbury address, striking him in the knees and head with a hammer when he attempted to flee about 10.30pm on July 5.

Joondalup Detectives Senior Sergeant Brad Burnett alleged the men held the man captive in a vehicle and were driving to Wangara to cause him further harm.

Patrol police stopped the vehicle after considering it suspicious when they saw it driving through an industrial area late at night.

Sen-Sgt Burnett said officers detained the men and called detectives to investigate. The alleged victim was hospitalised with head wounds.
