Iluka man allegedly in possession of thousands of dollars of stolen goods

AN Iluka man was allegedly hoarding thousands of dollars of stolen goods at a Scarborough hotel when police raided the premises this month.

Officers searched a room at the Indian Ocean Hotel on April 13, alleging the 22-year-old man was in possession of electrical goods, clothes and about $5000 of jewellery linked to burglaries in Duncraig, Greenwood and City Beach.

Investigators allege he hawked stolen jewellery at a variety of pawnbrokers.

He was allegedly in possession of methamphetamine when police arrested him.

He was charged with three counts of receiving stolen goods, five counts of fraud, two counts of drug possession and two counts of possessing drug paraphernalia.

He is due to appear in Perth Magistrates Court next month.
