Iluka resident has London Marathon fundraiser in his sights

ILUKA resident Gary Langham is ticking off a bucket list item while raising money for sick children.

Mr Langham is competing in the London Marathon in April, running in support of the Perth Children’s Hospital Foundation (formerly Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation).

“I was looking at doing the London Marathon at some point in my life,” he said. “I’ve got two children, aged 17 and 14, and this just felt like a good thing to do.

He is part of the Northern Suburbs Running Group, running between 50km and 60km a week, and is feeling “fairly confident” about the event.

Mr Langham has raised more than $2000 for the foundation so far and aims to reach $10,000.

To help him achieve the target, he has organised a charity movie screening of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them in Currambine on November 19, which includes a visit from foundation mascot Stitches the Bear.
