THIS weekend’s Garage Sale Trail could see shoppers get into the festive spirit early thanks to an Iluka resident.

Nicky Reed is taking advantage of the initiative to sell some of her Christmas decorations after moving from a bigger property to Iluka.

“I’m just trying to get rid of all my Christmas stuff because I’ve got way too much,” she said.

“The house we are living in is not big enough to put everything out. I’ll have enough (left) that I can keep going.”

Mrs Reed said her sale would include lights, inflatable decorations and smaller indoor pieces.

It will be at 54 Boynton Gardens, Iluka from 9am to noon on Saturday and Sunday.

Organisers of the sustainability and community campaign expect more than 350,000 people to take part across Australia.

The cause is supported by 150 councils across Australia, including the cities of Wanneroo and Joondalup.
