A JOONDALUP resident has won a national competition to become one of 10 IKEA Tidy Technicians.

Sharon Turner was selected by the Swedish furniture giant to be part of a team that will tidy the homes of 100 Australians for free, making their space more liveable and stress-free.

Ms Turner owns a home organisation business, Bluebird Organising, which is based in Ocean Reef.

She said being tidy and organised “comes easy to her”, saying it’s not just part of her job but a way of life.

IKEA said they received more than 1000 entries from across Australia and have selected just 10 Tidy Technicians.

Once they have undergone training, IKEA will be footing the bill to dispatch the new Tidy Technicians to organise 100 Australian homes.

People can post their tidy requests via the IKEA Australia Facebook page before February 12, and the 10 tidy experts will select 10 homes each to declutter.

“We had such a tough job selecting our 10, as the standard of entries was incredibly high,” Christine Gough, interior designer for IKEA Australia, said.

“Our chosen technicians are already incredibly well versed in the art of tidying and the bootcamp training will help to amplify these skills further with our in-depth knowledge of people’s life at home, in addition to the potential of our range.”
