INTERNATIONAL bestselling author Jodi Picoult will be addressing fans in Sorrento on November 17.
Having sold more than 14 million novels, Picoult is expected to attract a capacity audience of 500 to Sacred Heart College’s performing arts centre.
In her latest book, Small Great Things, Picoult tackles prejudice, race and justice.
It follows a newborn child’s parents who instruct a nurse not to touch their baby.
But when the baby goes into cardiac arrest, Ruth, a nurse of 20 years experience, sees no option but to help.
When the baby dies, Ruth is charged with negligent homicide.
She finds different kinds of support from her sister and her teenage son, but it is to Kennedy McQuarrie, a white middle-class lawyer, to whom she entrusts her case, and her future.
The visit is part of the Meet the Author sessions, hosted by the City of Joondalup and Dymocks Joondalup.
The book will be available to buy with signings limited to the new release and one back-list title.Tickets are $8 with refreshments provided. The session starts at 6.30pm.
