Joondalup Christmas Lunch: no one should spend Christmas Day alone

Laura PondJoondalup Times

ORGANISERS of the Joondalup Christmas Lunch believe no one should spend Christmas Day alone.

That is why they encourage anyone facing that situation to be part of the free annual event held at Central Park.

Committee member Margaret Fullelove said Christmas was a time for family, celebration and sharing.

“Unfortunately, for many people – through a variety of circumstances – it can be a day of loneliness and great sadness,” she said.

“This annual celebration gives people an opportunity to enjoy a delicious Christmas meal and make some new friends along the way, as well as show that what a caring community looks like.

“This much-loved occasion celebrates the joy, hope and love of the festive season.”

The lunch is run by volunteers and supported by Lotterywest, the City of Joondalup and Ramsay Health Care.

Since being established in 2008, it has grown to be one of the largest events of its kind in Perth.
