Joondalup detectives charge man and boy after shopping centre armed robbery

JOONDALUP detectives have charged a man and a boy after an armed robbery incident at a northern suburbs shopping centre yesterday.

Police claim that a group of youths walked into a clothing shop at a Joondalup shopping centre just after midday.

They allegedly took several items of clothing and when approached by a staff member, the 15-year-old produced a knife and made threats towards her.

They left the store, taking the clothing with them.

The staff member had her clothes sliced by the knife as the youths left.

A 21-year-old man from Dudley Park has been charged with aggravated armed robbery and will appear in the Perth Magistrates Court today.

A 15-year-old boy from Dudley Park has also been charged with aggravated armed robbery and will appear in the Perth Children’s Court today.

Detectives are still investigating and trying to determine the identity of a third boy that was involved who they believe was between 14 and 16-years-old.
