The former dressmaker and fashion sales assistant celebrated the milestone with family, friends and staff at Brightwater Care Group’s Joondalup facility on June 17.

This was followed by lunch at a winery in Woodvale – thanks to donations made to the group’s Life’s Possibilities fund.

Born in New Zealand, Mrs Watkin moved to Perth 25 years ago. Her family includes two sons, five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Service manager Angela Lowe said Mrs Watkin was known as “the Duchess” because she enjoys tea in her own cup and saucer.
