A YOUNG man accused of seriously injuring his seven-week-old baby at his Hamersley home in August was not required to plead in Joondalup Magistrates Court today.
Magistrate Geoff Lawrence granted Lochlan Stuart Rankine (25) bail with a surety before remanding him to appear for a bail assessment on October 23 and further hearing on December 28.
Mr Rankine is facing a charge of grievous bodily harm in circumstances of aggravation after police say the baby was taken to Perth Children’s Hospital on August 10 with life-threatening injuries.
Police have also said Mr Rankine was home alone with the child at the time of the alleged offence.
He is also facing two counts of possessing a prohibited drug.
