A MAN charged in relation to the theft of madagascan radiated tortoises from Perth Zoo seven years ago has been remanded on bail to reappear in court next month.

Mai Huy Vu Vo (29) fronted Joondalup Magistrates Court this morning on three charges of possessing stolen or unlawfully obtained property.

Warwick police last month recovered two of three tortoises taken from Perth Zoo in 2011 after they attended a home in Girrawheen on an unrelated matter.

Mr Vo’s case was adjourned to November 2 so he could obtain an interpreter.
