JOONDALUP MLA Emily Hamilton delivered her inaugural speech to the 40th Parliament of WA last month.

Watching on were her children Mya and Ryan, as well as family and supporters in the public gallery.

One of the focal points of Ms Hamilton’s speech was the need for the development of local projects to create local jobs.

She said this included continuing the growth and development of Joondalup as a thriving second CBD by investing in education, health and community infrastructure.

“We need local secure and sustainable jobs, meaningful paths to employment for our young people, affordable and accessible training and apprenticeship opportunities, quality healthcare close to home and investment in our local schools,” she said.

“It was very clear the people of Joondalup wanted to see progress on the Ocean Reef Marina development.

“It has overwhelming public support and local residents have a keen interest in seeing construction begin.”
