BAGS are being filled with essential items for women in support of the Share the Dignity campaign this Christmas.
Joondalup MLA Emily Hamilton said though Share the Dignity ran at all times of the year, Christmas could be a particularly difficult time for women affected by homelessness, poverty or family and domestic violence.
Each Christmas, the organisation runs the #itsinthebag campaign that aims to collect pre-loved handbags, backpacks, beach bags, totes or even cloth shopping bags filled with essentials to give to women during December.

Volunteers Jan Lewsey of Connolly and Pippa MacDonald of Ocean Reef contacted Ms Hamilton for support.
She put a call out on social media and has been collecting bags in her Joondalup office.
“I’m sure these handbags will bring a little bit of Christmas cheer to women who are doing it tough,” she said.
“We have a great community that has got on board.”
People can drop off bags at Ms Hamilton’s Wise Street office until December 21.
