Joondalup: Police on tail of alcohol thief

POLICE want the public’s help to catch an alcohol thief.

The man stole two pre-mixed alcohol multi-packs and cigarettes from a Joondalup liquor store in Candlewood Boulevard on October 7 about 4pm.

Police say he put the alcohol on the counter before asking for a packet of Winfield Blues.

The staff member placed the cigarettes with the alcohol inside a cardboard box before the man picked it up and went to leave.

“The store employee locked the doors remotely and the man made verbal threats towards the employee,” police said.

“He was able to leave the store a short time later with the cardboard box and its contents without paying.”

Police have released a CCTV image of a man they say can help their investigation.

He is described as 35 to 40 years old, unshaven, with short dark hair and a medium build. He was wearing a dark coloured ‘Everlast’ hooded top, blue jeans and white runners.
