THE City of Joondalup has installed signage at five more community facilities after building retrofits to reduce water consumption and energy use.

The retrofits at Joondalup Library, the Connolly and Warwick community centres and the Flinders Park and Sorrento community halls means the City now has 21 buildings that display ‘Think Green Buildings’ signage.

Upgrades included installation of solar panels, solar hot water systems, water efficient taps and showerheads, waterless urinals, dual flush toilets, timed taps and showers, energy efficient lighting and sensor lighting.

Mayor Troy Pickard said the buildings promoted sustainable technologies to local residents who could apply the initiatives in their own homes.
