Joondalup train services resume after crash on train line

COMMUTERS may face some delays this morning after an overnight crash shut down the train line between Joondalup and Butler.

Services resumed at 5.30am this morning after a nine-hour cancellation.

The crash happened during peak hour last night at 5.30pm, when a Toyota Hilux hit the side barrier near Burns Beach Road on the Mitchell Freeway and flipped over onto the line.

The driver escaped with only minor injuries.

Main Roads WA closed the Mitchell Freeway southbound while Transperth cancelled all trains between Joondalup and Butler.
