YOUNGSTERS interested in politics are encouraged to represent the Joondalup electorate at YMCA Youth Parliament.
The program teaches West Australians aged 15 to 25 about the political process while making their voices heard about issues important to them.
Participants learn about writing legislation and speeches and will present their bills while role-playing in Parliament House during a week-long camp.
“I would love to see a young person from our community represent the electorate of Joondalup in the chamber,” Joondalup MLA Emily Hamilton said.
“Like all parliaments, diversity is strength, so if you are a young person with a keen interest in the political system, I urge you to apply and gain an even greater understanding about politics as a way to make change.”
Applications close March 10 – visit www.ymcawa.org.au for details.
