CHILDREN were encouraged to get more than just their hands dirty during a nature play activity in Kallaroo recently.
Kallaroo Community Threes kindergarten hosted staff from Nature Play Solutions, who ran a messy mud day morning for children and their families.
Teacher Tash Zappara said it was a unique and enjoyable experience.
“It was a lovely and safe way to introduce them to mud,” she said.
“It was also interesting to see those children who were thoroughly into it from the beginning, and others who were brave enough to step outside of their own comfort zone and have a go.
“The students, along with their siblings and families, enjoyed squelching in the mud and making mud pies all in the name of learning.”
