Kangaroo crossing warning for Whitfords Avenue

LOCAL drivers are encouraged to be aware of kangaroos crossing Whitfords Avenue between Duffy Terrace and Lake Goollelal.

Kingsley MLA Andrea Mitchell released a statement after Kingsley resident Ian Watson raised concerns over kangaroos being hit by vehicles as they migrate north and south.

“I would like to encourage drivers to be aware of the possible movement of the kangaroos so we can avoid any incidents that would hurt a kangaroo or potentially damage a vehicle,” Ms Mitchell said.

The Duffy Terrace site has a large population of kangaroos, particularly around dawn and dusk.
