Kapow! Northern suburbs youngsters can have fun with new youth group initiative in Joondalup

Tyler BrownJoondalup Times

YOUNGSTERS in the northern suburbs are coming together each fortnight for fun, games and music.

The Kapow youth group is a joint initiative from Youth Jam Radio’s Isaac Mulcrone and Forte School of Music’s Nunzio Guinta for kids in years 5 to 10.

Isaac said they wanted to “bring a positive group to Perth”.

“We believe our positive message will help youth when they are lost, upset, angry or just need somewhere to go,” the Clarkson 16-year-old said.

“The group was set up to allow youth to come to a place where they won’t be judged, where they can have fun, play some games, learn about radio, listen to music, play instruments and just chat with other youth.

“Anyone who comes through our doors is warmly welcomed because we believe all youth deserve the chance to have fun, relax and make long-lasting friendships.

“We have already seen some friendships made through the group.”

Kapow runs at Forte School of Music in Joondalup every second Friday from 6.30pm to 8.30pm, with the next session on June 15.

Entry is $2 with free hot chocolate, plus a canteen where all products are also $2.
