AN 81-year-old woman was taken to hospital with serious injuries after a crash in Kingsley yesterday afternoon.
Major Crash officers are investigating the serious traffic crash which happened about 3.25pm on Monday near the Whitfords Avenue off ramp.
A black Toyota Aurion was travelling north on the Mitchell Freeway just prior to the Whitfords Ave off ramp, in the centre lane, when it crashed into the rear of a black Hyundai Getz, which was travelling at a slower speed in the same direction.
At the same time, a car towing a boat was stationary in the centre emergency lane of the freeway by the crash scene.
The 81-year-old driver of the Hyundai and a female passenger of the Aurion both received serious injuries and were taken to Joondalup Hospital for treatment.
Major Crash investigators are seeking witnesses who may have seen the vehicles driving along Mitchell Freeway northbound in the Kingsley area, prior to the crash.
They are particularly interested in speaking to a possible witness driver of a beige vehicle that was travelling between the two crashed vehicles seconds prior to the crash.
