Bronwyn DonovanJoondalup Times

LARGE waves and high tides over the weekend has again caused considerable erosion at Quinns Beach.

The City of Wanneroo’s director of assets Harminder Singh said maintenance had been scheduled for today to ensure safe access to the beach during the Christmas and New Year period.

“Coastal construction sites have not been affected by the storm and works are progressing as planned,” he said.

“Large scale beach renourishment works will be arranged in the new year, similar to previous years, in order to widen the beach at this location and provide a buffer against beach erosion events prior to the winter storm season.”
