Man charged after Heathridge alleged armed robbery using tomahawk

AN Osborne Park man has been charged after an alleged armed robbery in Heathridge on Saturday, February 17.

At 5.40am a man in his 20s and his friend were approached by two men in a dark blue Subaru Liberty along Eddystone Avenue.

The man was threatened by the driver of the vehicle with a tomahawk before being struck by the handle of the weapon.

The driver grabbed the victim’s mobile phone before returning to his vehicle and driving off.

A 23-year-old man was later arrested at a residence in Craigie.

The man has been charged with a string of offences including aggravated armed robbery and several driving charges.

He is due to appear before the Joondalup Magistrates Court today (March 14).
