A FANTASTIC venue and tasty food made for a “very successful” International Women’s Day event in Marmion.
The First WAVE (Western Australian View Evening) Club held the inaugural lunch on March 8 with 102 women filling the Marmion Angling and Aquatic Club.
The event focused on the importance of children learning to read with guest speakers, including Lisa Laschon and Susan Hampton-Mortlock from The Smith Family and The Literature Centre founder Lesley Reece.
The Smith Family’s Learning for Life program was also featured with mother Kathryn Forster and student Ndeye Diaw talking about their experiences.
