MARMION naturopath Mauricio Cabrera has been granted bail and allowed to continue practising after appearing in Perth Magistrates Court this morning on indecent assault charges.

Mr Cabrera was granted bail with a $1000 undertaking and Magistrate Edward de Vries said he was allowed to continue practising on the condition a third-party was present when he treated patients.

“At the very least there needs to be a condition that he not practice without a third person present,” Mr de Vries said.

The 35-year-old Edgewater resident works at West Coast Natural Therapies Clinic in Marmion.

The police prosecutor said the allegations related to incidents with 10 clients between December 2011 and July 2017.

The prosecutor alleged Mr Cabrera asked patients to take their bras off and treated them around the breast area when it was seemingly unnecessary.

“Clients were not necessarily able to liken that treatment to their initial complaint,” he said.

He will appear again in Joondalup Magistrates Court on June 27.
