Matildas draw crowd at Whitfords Brewing Company ahead of friendly international match in Perth

PERTH Glory striker Sam Kerr and her Matildas teammates proved a draw card in the northern suburbs this morning.

The Australian team was at Whitfords Brewing Company at Westfield Whitford City shopping centre for an intimate networking event ahead of its first ever game in Perth.

The Matildas take on Thailand in a friendly match at nib Stadium this Monday evening in the lead up to the AFC Asian Cup in April.

Kerr, who was this year’s Young Australian of the Year, is the only Glory player in the squad.

She will be playing in front of her home crowd as a Matilda for the first time.

Fans can get a sneak peek of the team in action at a free open training session at nib Stadium tomorrow.

Gates open 6.15pm and there will be the chance to grab an autograph or selfie with players.
