Meet guide dog puppies at Lakeside Joondalup

WHILE dogs are not usually allowed in shopping centres, this week is an exception at Lakeside Joondalup Shopping City.

Until Saturday, training guide dog puppies and Guide Dogs WA’s ambassadog Luna will be outside Coles to raise money for the organisation.

Community fundraising coordinator Jessica Bezerra said the public could learn more about the guide dog program while getting up close with dogs that help people with vision impairment.

She said it would also be a valuable chance for Guide Dogs WA to explain how they relied on the support of the public to run the program.

It takes two years and costs more than $35,000 to train a guide dog.
