LOCAL residents’ associations in the City of Joondalup are inviting their ward and mayoral candidates to meet voters.
The Craigie Resident and Community Association will host its debate from 10am to 12.30pm on Sunday, October 1, at the Warrandyte Park clubroom.
Central ward candidates Liam Gobbert, Peter Rowlands, Teresa Ritchie, David Wilkins, Christopher May and Aaron Sice have been invited to start the event, before the City’s eight mayoral candidates – Rob Johnson, Russell Poliwka, Gary Morris, Nasir Shah, Brogan Murphy, Albert Jacob, Graeme Stickland and Chris Morrison – can have their say.
The debate will finish with a fundraising sausage sizzle and meet and greet.
The following evening, the Connolly and Heathridge residents associations have invited the mayoral candidates, as well as North Central ward candidates Said Hafez, Steve Meatheringham, Renee Wingfield, Jasmine Hawks, Gary Morris, Juliette Reay and Philippa Taylor, to a forum.
The October 2 event will run from 7pm to 9pm at the Connolly Community Centre.
Candidates will be invited to speak briefly, with questions to follow.

The Joondalup Business Association is also hosting a mayoral candidate question-and-answer forum at Quality Resort Sorrento Beach from 5pm to 7pm on Wednesday, October 4.
Other candidates in contention are Clive Haddow, Rhys Alliex, Mary O’Byrne and Kerry Hollywood for the North Ward, John Raftis, Russ Fishwick and Nasir Shah for the South Ward, Cema Santos, John Chester and Raymond Bartell for the South East Ward and Lou Mylonas, Christine Hamilton-Prime, Robert Marie and Jamie Chester for the South West Ward.
