Mercy Place Edgewater celebrates Harmony Day

FROM India to Indonesia and many places in between, the different cultures that make up Mercy Place Edgewater were celebrated on Harmony Day yesterday.

With staff and residents from more than a dozen different countries celebrations included an international cheese tasting morning and staff members bringing dishes from their countries of birth to be sampled.

Mercy Place Edgewater service manager Alison Devonport said it was important to to experience other cultures in a “fun and inclusive way”.

“Our home is almost like a small United Nations as we have people from a range of countries and as a result our whole team appreciates the reasoning behind Harmony Day,” she said.
