“I never saw myself as a pageant girl, even though I always dreamed of wearing a sparkly crown and a pretty dress ever since I was a little girl,” the Edgewater resident said.
“I haven’t had much modelling experience, but I did some research about the Galaxy Australia pageant and thought it would be a really fun and exciting experience.”
Now Emma is one of 12 state finalists for this year’s Miss Galaxy Australia.
She said she was surprised and “so grateful and honoured” to be chosen to represent WA.
As part of the process, Emma held a high tea last month to raise money for Make-A-Wish Foundation.
“I am always willing and wanting to help others in need as that is something I’m very passionate about and something I hope to do more and more of using my platform gained from competing in Miss Galaxy Australia,” she said.
State finals will be held on January 28, where six will be chosen to attend the national final on the Gold Coast in April.
