Team leader Kate Hall, who runs boot camp classes at local beaches, said the fundraising run was made all the more poignant as everyone in the group had young children or babies.
“The charity of Sids and Kids resonates so strongly with me, and I know all of our team, as mothers,” she said.
“There is nothing that compares to a protective and instinctive love a mother has for her child.
“I have sadly witnessed close friends and family experience the profound grief of losing a child and understand the gravity and infinite bereavement associated with such a loss.”
Most members of Mrs Hall’s team, ‘The Real Housewives of Marmion’ have registered to take part in the 5km run at City Beach on February 21.
“It is a great training goal and caters for the recreational runner though to the super competitive runner chasing down a personal best,” she said.
“The Sunshine Beach Run is such a unique event for Perth.”
Money raised helps Sids and Kids continue research and education into miscarriage, stillbirth and sudden infant death syndrome and sudden unexplained death in childhood.
