Music in the Park Joondalup: audience shines under the stars

Laura PondJoondalup Times

JOONDALUP’S Central Park was the setting for a great night of entertainment under the stars when the first Music in the Park concert kicked off last Saturday night.

Australian acts Winterbourne and The Little Lord Street Band performed to more than 1500 people as part of the free concert series presented by the City of Joondalup.

Mayor Troy Pickard said both groups had a great time on stage playing to an “appreciative crowd”.

“Not only does this annual concert series offer local residents high quality, free family-friendly entertainment at some of the City’s most beautiful locations, it also offers the artists themselves a unique live experience,” he said.

Jordan Brady of Winterbourne praised the audience.

“Joondalup just had such a nice community vibe, it was great to see such a great turnout of people who just wanted to sit and chill and listen to some live music – it’s the kind of gig we really love playing,” he said.

The next concert in the series is on January 14, when Boom!Bap!Pow! and The Darling Buds of May perform at Penistone Park in Greenwood from 7pm, with children’s activities from 6pm.
