Murphy, of the Murphy Brothers band and Australian Idol fame, is helping get the Fathering Project’s champion dads group off the ground at Greenwood Primary School.

Fathering Project schools manager Colin West said more than 70 WA schools, 5000 fathers and 8000 children were involved.

“This program helps fathers and father figures such as step fathers, granddads and uncles engage positively with their children, each other, their school and community,” he said.

“Dads are also having fun social events where they can meet, socialise, network and learn from the practical tips provided.”
