National Carers Week: free events in Joondalup and Wanneroo

CARERS wanting to know more about support services in the community can attend an information session at Joondalup Library this Tuesday.

The free event is part of National Carers Week, which runs from October 16 to 22, and will feature presenters from Memory Nurture, Independent Living Centre, Community Vision, Heart to Heart Connections and Carers WA.

Topics will include driving, nurturing memories, cognitive stimulation therapy and community services.

The event runs from 9.15am to 12.30pm including a high tea.

Movie screening for carers in Wanneroo

CARERS can enjoy a free morning tea and movie screening in Wanneroo as part of National Carers Week.

The City of Wanneroo is hosting the event on Friday, October 21, thanks to funding from Carers WA and Lotterywest.

There will be a morning tea at 10am followed by an 11am screening of romantic comedy The Big Wedding at Wanneroo Civic Centre.

It is free but registration is essential on 9405 5522.
