YEARS of student, staff and community vision has culminated in the official opening of a nature play space for primary students at Lake Joondalup Baptist College.
“Terry Farrell and his team from Nature Based Play have produced an outstanding play space with affectionately named areas such as the Forest, the Riverbed, the Kitchen, the Whale station, Lava Island and Cubby Hill,” dean of primary Carol Harris said.
“Signs also alert the students to beware of the sleeping rock crocodile, stinky bug hotels and toe-eating ants.

The space was opened with a ribbon cutting by Joondalup mayor Albert Jacob and college board chair David van der Moezel.
Paediatrician and medical researcher Desiree Silva also spoke to students about the benefits of outdoor play and learning and Lake Joondalup Baptist Church pastor Steve Ingram said a prayer of blessing and gratitude for the new space.
