New centre opened

It followed the merger of the Whitford and Joondalup centres over the weekend.

"Our donors have been very supportive of the merger and we are thrilled that many of our Whitford and Joondalup donors are already booked in to donate at Edgewater," Blood Service spokeswoman Jessica Willet said.

"The familiar faces of staff from both Whitford and Joondalup are still there and we are now operating with much longer opening hours, making it even easier to book an appointment."

The Edgewater Blood Donor Centre is open six days a week for blood, plasma and platelet donations at 57 Joondalup Drive, Edgewater.

The centre needs another 330 people to donate in the next fortnight.
