New jetties for Hillarys, Two Rocks

Tyler BrownJoondalup Times

A WANGARA company has replaced 30-year-old boat pens at Hillarys Boat Harbour and constructed replacement boat pens at Two Rocks Marina.

The $4.9 million project included floating concrete jetties B and C at Hillarys replaced with a new modern floating pen system, with the new configuration making room for a new jetty B0 providing eight pens.

At Two Rocks Marina, the construction of a replacement jetty Q consisted of nine pens following the demolition of structures including the original fuel jetty as part of a reconfiguration and major upgrade.

Transport Minister Rita Saffioti said the upgrades were a significant improvement for local residents as well as providing job opportunities, with Shorewater Marine employing an extra four full-time staff and using local subcontractors.

Local community groups also benefited from the project with Shorewater Marine donating salvaged timber from the demolished jetty at Two Rocks Marina to the Gingin and Yanchep Community men’s sheds and Joondalup Primary School.
