Nipper the crab to pinch a spot at Hillarys as part of Crab Fest

SPOTTING crabs at Hillarys Boat Harbour shouldn’t be too hard this Sunday.

Nipper – a 5m inflatable Blue Manna crab – will visit the weekend hotspot from 10am to 2pm to help raise awareness about sustainable fishing of crabs and spread the word about the 20th anniversary of Mandurah Crab Fest being held on March 17 and 18.

The festival is WA’s biggest free regional event and showcases a variety of food and entertainment from the Peel area, including local and international acts across four stages and fireworks.

Having already been to Matilda Bay, Nipper will continue on to Fremantle Fishing Harbour on February 25, Rottnest Island on March 4 and Yagan Square on March 11 before heading back to Mandurah for the festival.

People are encouraged to take a selfie with the crab and share it on social media for the chance to win a prize.
