TWO local students have spent their school holidays scoring goals across the world.

Sacred Heart College’s Maddie Hunter (Year 10) and Charley Rafferty (Year 8) were the only WA girls selected for the Australian indoor netball under-16 and under-15 teams.

They competed at the 2017 World Indoor Netball Association’s Junior World Series in Johannesburg, South Africa, from July 9 to 15.

The Hamersley Indoor Netball Club members were chosen after representing WA in the 2016 International Netball Federation’s Junior Nationals.

The girls said they were “extremely proud” to be representing Australia. “Wearing the green and gold is something we only ever dreamed of,” they said.
