UPDATE, September 26, 3.30pm: Joondalup Mayor Albert Jacob has confirmed about 20m of the southern jetty at Ocean Reef Marina was destroyed by fire on Monday night.

He said said the public would not be able to access the jetty until the “significant repair work has been undertaken”.

“At this stage, the City is awaiting quotes for carrying out the necessary repairs,” he said.

“However, it is hoped once the damaged section of jetty is removed, buoyancy tanks will provide part access to the jetty while the City’s contractors source materials to repair the entire structure.”
