FAITH Ward is dancing her way to Hollywood.

The 14-year-old from Ocean Reef has been named the Australian ambassador for American dance company Kids Artistic Revue (KAR).

As part of her position, she will fly to the US this month to take part in the company’s Hollywood Dance Invitational.

“I just got my itinerary and I will be attending amazing workshops with top choreographers, merchandise shoots, mock auditions, a Universal Studios VIP experience and shopping,” she said.

As ambassador, Faith said her role would involve representing KAR, promotion on social media, attending events and merchandise photo shoots.

“I’m so excited; they are an amazing company and I love their competitions,” she said.

“They also sent me through a piece of choreography that I had to learn so I have been practising that, and also an acting script, so I’ve been learning my lines.”

Faith first started dancing at the age of two and now dances six days a week at Smash Dance Company in Wangara under the direction of Cameron Gibson.

She performs all styles, listing her favourites as jazz, lyrical, contemporary and acro.

“It is a huge commitment,” she said. “If I’m not at school, I’m dancing.

“And when I’m not at the studio, I’m practising or competing, running my own workshops or filming videos for dance-related companies I promote on Instagram.

“It’s massive but I wouldn’t change it for anything.

“It is my total passion; it gives me the chance to let go of everything that’s going on in life and just dance.

“It has given me so many amazing opportunities and I hope more to come.

“I haven’t exactly figured out what I want to do with it yet; I think I would love to do shows or being in Cirque du Soleil would be a dream come true.”

Faith will head back to the US in June to compete in Florida after winning KAR’s title of Australia’s top teen dancer earlier this year.
