Padbury: man caught with allegedly stolen vibrator

Mark DonaldsonJoondalup Times

A PINK vibrator was among items allegedly stolen by a man accused of evading police by locking himself in a car in Padbury last week.

The alleged offender (27) came to police attention three days earlier when he was the passenger in a car officers stopped in Hillarys on December 30.

Police arrested him on drug accusations on that occasion but he allegedly escaped custody by taking control of the car he’d been travelling in and driving away.

Detectives tracked the man to the Padbury home last Tuesday January 2.

Police said the man again allegedly attempted to flee, this time by locking himself in a car at the front of the property.

Officers detained the man after entering the vehicle via a back door.

The man was allegedly in possession of a vibrator stolen from an adult shop in Clarkson.

Police charged him with escaping custody, vehicle theft and driving without a licence.

He was also charged with three thefts, two counts of possessing stolen property and two breaches of bail.

He is due to face Joondalup Magistrates Court today.
