Park land excised

Tyler BrownJoondalup Times

Joondalup councillors at last month’s meeting supported the proposal to amalgamate a 900sqm portion of Kingsley Park with the Kingsley Memorial Clubrooms site.

This would mean all of the Kingsley Memorial Clubrooms, including the future additions, would be contained on the one site.

The proposal was advertised for public comment for 30 days and no submissions were received.

A council document said the proposal would “not have any adverse impact on public access to the reserve” and City officers recommended it be supported.

In April 2003, the council agreed to excise a 953sqm portion of Kingsley Park to accommodate the Kingsley Memorial Clubrooms and in May 2003, was given the power to lease the clubrooms site for club premises.

Once the excision process is completed, this order will be amended to include clubroom additions.
