Justin BianchiniJoondalup Times

KELLY Troon is one of several northern suburbs Giants fans looking forward to this weekend’s AFL grand final.

The Joondalup resident will join fellow members of the Perth Giants Supporters Group to watch the GWS Giants take on Richmond on Saturday at the Empire Bar in Lathlain from 10.30am.

Kelly said she did “six months research” before settling on the Giants.

“(I went) to supporter pubs in Perth to get a feel for the right group with passion as well as a club with values that match,” she said.

Leeann and Richard Flynn, of Greenwood, are passionate fans.

“I disliked footy until I saw GWS,” Leeann said.

“My passion for the club grew and I got to meet some lovely fans and players.”

“I loved Kevin Sheedy’s foresight in having playing assistant coaches in the early days to help the young talent along,” Richard said.

“Boy, hasn’t it paid off.

“Became very passionate about the club a few years ago and will love them till I die.”

Nikki, of Yanchep, will be cheering the Giants on with her partner at the MCG.

“We support GWS as my partner is from Western Sydney and we love supporting a new and upcoming team who made their debut into the AFL the same year I moved to Australia,” Nikki said.

Andrew, Leanne, Lochlan and Noah, of Ellenbrook, “bleed orange” for the Giants.

“We will be at the Empire Bar with other Perth Giants on grand final day,” Leanne said.

“I became a Giants member as I was born over there and my son was born the same year that they formed.

“Our hearts bleed orange white and charcoal.”
