Members of the Perth Joint Agency Child Exploitation Team executed a search warrant at the man’s house on June 7.

“The man’s electronic devices were examined and seized in instances deemed relevant to the investigation,” AFP said in a statement.

“It will be alleged these devices were used to access and transmit child exploitation material.”

The man was arrested and charged with one count of possession of child exploitation material and three counts of using a carriage service for child pornography material.

A spokesman for WA Police said: “The 29-year-old man charged with child exploitation offences is a First Class Constable attached to the WA Police Force who was working in the Perth Metropolitan area when the alleged offences occurred.

“The officer was charged by AFP officers on June 7, and he was stood down from duty by WA Police Force on the same day.”
