Police charge 18-year-old over Padbury party assault

JOONDALUP Detectives have charged a man over the incident that left Padbury man Ryan Ball (38) fighting for his life in hospital.

The charges follow an investigation into an incident at a party in Vernon Place, Padbury, on Sunday February 26.

It is alleged that the victim was punched to the face, causing him to fall and hit his head on the ground.

He remains in an induced coma at Royal Perth Hospital.

It is further alleged that as the party dispersed, the charged man also assaulted a 17-year-old boy who sustained a broken jaw.

An 18-year -old man from Merriwa has been charged with grievous bodily harm and assault occasioning bodily harm.

He was refused bail and will appear in the Northbridge Magistrates Court tomorrow, Saturday March 4.

Joondalup Detectives are continuing to investigate possible assault and stealing incidents that occurred in the Padbury area during the times of these incidents.
