POLICE have charged three men over the torture and killing of two kangaroos earlier this year.

The men were allegedly involved in an incident which led to a kangaroo being burnt, shot with a firearm, spat on and kicked.

The kangaroo was then allegedly held down and punched numerous times by a man wearing knuckle dusters.

Police also alleged the men were involved in the torture of another kangaroo which was stabbed with a knife over 20 times before being kicked in the head.

A 22-year-old man from Bullsbrook, a 28-year-old man from Aveley and a 26-year-old man from Woodvale will appear before the Joondalup Magistrates Court today and have been charged with cruelty to animals and possession of things intended to inflict cruelty.

Police have thanked members of the public for their assistance in this investigation, as a large amount of information was provided to police after the incident was made public on Wednesday.
