Police hunt gang of youths who wounded boys in Joondalup robbery

POLICE are trying to identify a number of people involved in robbery and wounding incidents in Joondalup on Sunday September 24.

About 6:30pm two boys aged 13 and 14 were walking to the entrance of a take away food store on Joondalup Drive when they were allegedly assaulted and robbed by a group of 10-15 youths.

During the incident, one of the boys was thrown to the ground where he was kicked before having his shoes and mobile phone stolen.

The second incident occurred outside a take away food store on Dwyer Turn, Joondalup between 7:15 and 7:30pm.

A 17-year-old male and 23-year-old female were sitting on the kerb outside when they were surrounded by a group of males.

The male victim was pushed and punched before being struck to the head with a glass bottle.

The female victim had her purse stolen.

The male victim needed stitches.

Police have charged a 16-year-old boy with two counts of aggravated robbery in relation to the first incident.

He will appear in the Joondalup Children’s Court on October 17.
