POLICE are investigating whether West Perth WAFL forward Tyler Keitel was bitten on the nose in an assault at Mullaloo Beach Hotel on Sunday.

Hillarys Senior Sergeant Peter Feast said officers were waiting to view CCTV footage.

The incident wasn’t reported to police until Tuesday.

Mr Keitel did not wish to comment on the matter, other than to say he was “fine”.

It is understood there was an altercation between Mr Keitel and an unknown man on the dance floor.

Mr Keitel felt pain to his nose and found that it was bleeding.

West Perth released a brief statement today confirming the incident.

“Unprovoked, a member of the public caused a clash of heads resulting in an injury to Keitel’s nose. The extent of the injury is considered minor,” the statement said.

“The incident has since been reported to police and no further comment will be made, pending the result of any police investigation.”

The 21-year-old’s WAFL season finished on Sunday when Swan Districts defeated West Perth in the elimination final at Bassendean Oval.
