Police seeking witnesses to Mullaloo Beach sexual assault

DETECTIVES continue to investigate the sexual assault of a woman at Mullaloo Beach on December 24 and are urging anyone who was in the area to come forward.

About 5am a woman in her 40s was walking along the beach track next to Oceanside Promenade when a naked man grabbed her from behind, dragged her to the ground and sexually assaulted her.

The incident occurred about 300m north of the Mullaloo Beach (north) carpark.

The man fled on foot and was last seen running south.

He is described as being 18 to 25 years old with brown skin, an athletic build, clean shaven and short brown hair.

Several people were in the area around the time of the assault and police would like to speak to them, particularly a man and woman who were walking south on the beach track of the Mullaloo carpark about 4.45am.

The woman was wearing a red jumper and black pants with a Nike logo on the side and the man was wearing a black long-sleeved top and black shorts.

Detectives are urging this man and woman and anyone else who was in the area around the time of the incident to contact them through Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
